This 6 hour tactical medical course covers how to collect vital signs and assess the patient for multiple injuries, including burns and various types of head injuries. We discuss how to deal with blood loss, shock and how to address these issues in an environment that has minimal medical resources. Use of tourniquets, wound packing material, needles for chest decompression, and artificial airways are addressed in the practical exercises that simulate a non-permissive and potentially unsafe situation.
